Author Tim Elmore Shares Insights on Generation iY at IGNITION

Tim Elmore, president of Growing Leaders, will be among the featured presenters at IGNITION, a young adult ministry training event, slated for April 4-6, 2011 at the Arlington Seventh-day Adventist Church, 4409 Pleasantview Drive, Arlington, TX  76017, located conveniently just minutes from the Dallas/Ft. In the wake of releasing his new book, Generation iY: Our Last Chance to Save Their Future, Elmore will address the latest young adult trends and how their style will impact our society and communities. It is no longer accurate to refer to the Generation Y as one collective generation. The Millennials born after 1990 are a whole new batch of students. They are being called Generation iY because their life is dominated by the iPhone, the iPod, iTunes, etc. They’ve been identified as the Digital Generation, Mosaics, Techies, Millennials and Screenagers.

Dr. Tim Elmore, the creator of the Habitudes series, is the founder and president of Growing Leaders, an Atlanta-based non-profit organization created to develop emerging leaders. Through Growing Leaders, he and his team provide public schools, state universities, civic organizations and corporations with the tools they need to help develop young leaders who can impact and transform society.  Elmore has worked alongside internationally recognized leadership expert Dr. John Maxwell for the past 25 years. According to Maxwell, “No one teaches leadership better than Tim Elmore.”

Elia King is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist who has been leading music in a worship setting for over ten years at events around the country.  He earned a BA in Religion at Andrews University in December 2004.  When he’s not playing music, Elia works as graphic design manager in Marketing & Public Relations at Southwestern Adventist University. He and his wife, Dena, live in Cleburne, Texas.

Nicholas Zork is a worship leader, songwriter, recording artist and the director of the Andrews University Music and Worship Conference. He regularly leads worship, presents workshops and performs at events around the United States and abroad. Zork is the editor of Best Practices for Adventist Worship, an email newsletter published by the North American Division Church Resource Center.  Nicholas received a BA in Music and Religion from Andrews University in 2003 and an MA in Theology with a concentration in Theology and the Arts from Fuller Theological Seminary in 2009.  He is currently pursuing a PhD in Theology with a concentration in Christian Worship at Fuller Theological Seminary.
